Green Room Scout Fellowship

What is a Fellowship?

Scout Fellowships exist to support scouting in many different ways. Recent changes in the Scout movement have encouraged a move away from large Area Fellowships to Fellowships where the members have a specific interest within Scouting. It is now necessary to form a fellowship wherever there is a group of adults working along with the Youth members.
Gang Show is a particularly good example of such a group, where adults not necessarily holding other positions within Scouting, come together to help produce a show, working in many different ways and providing a vast range of skills.

What will the Fellowship do?

The purpose of this new Fellowship is to provide active support to Scouting in many ways.

How much time must I commit?

People lead busy lives these days, and although it is expected that members will play an Active role in the Green Room Fellowship, the degree of that commitment can be as great or as little as personal circumstances dictate.

How much will it cost?

As with any organisation, there is cost involved, but although every member of the Green Room Fellowship will be subject to capitation charges by the Scout association, it is anticipated that fundraising will be carried out to prevent this burden falling on individual members. This money covers insurance costs for members, and is paid by everyone in the Scout Association from commissioners to Beaver Scouts. There will be a small annual fee to be paid to the Green Room Fellowship to help with administration costs, but it is hoped to keep this to a minimum.

How do I join?

Contact us to receive a form. Details entered on the form will be kept confidential but are required by the Scout Association for anyone working with youth members of the Movement. After certain checks have been carried out, nominations will go before the members of the Green Room Fellowship, and a decision will be made regarding membership.
